Sewer Root Removal in Willard, OH 44890
Cut the roots out of your Willard sewer line — and deal with the opening that let them in.
Our crews handle sewer root removal across Willard and Huron County every day of the year. The inspection comes first, the recommendation second, and the written quote before any work begins.
Sewer Root Removal in Willard — what matters locally
At a median build year of 1960, Willard laterals are old enough for joints to have opened and the street trees are old enough to have found them. Root intrusion is among the most common calls we take in Huron County.
Silver maple, willow and poplar are the most aggressive offenders. A sixty-year-old specimen has a root system that comfortably reaches a lateral under the front lawn.
When Willard properties need sewer root removal
- Repeat backups in the same line, several times a year
- Gurgling toilets or slow drains across multiple fixtures
- Unusually lush or soggy grass along the sewer route
- Mature trees within reach of the lateral — most of Willard's established streets
- Backups that return within months of the last clearing
How the work is carried out
The method itself does not change from city to city, so we have written it up once in full rather than repeating it here:

What it costs in Willard
Not every Willard sewer problem is a full-line problem, and we will not pretend otherwise to inflate a quote. The inspection tells us whether you are looking at a cleaning, one sectional repair, or genuine full-length work — and those are very different numbers.

Sewer Root Removal in Willard — FAQs
Will the roots grow back?
If the defect stays open, yes — typically within one to three years, faster with willow, poplar or silver maple. Cutting manages the symptom. Lining the pipe removes the opening entirely, and that is what ends it.
Do I have to remove the tree?
Almost never. The pipe is the problem, not the tree. Once the Willard lateral is lined there is no opening for roots to exploit and a mature tree can stay exactly where it is. Removing a healthy shade tree while leaving a cracked joint fixes nothing.
Do chemical root killers work?
As a supplement between cuttings, partly. Foaming root-control products slow regrowth, but they do not remove an established mass and they do not repair the defect. Copper sulphate down a toilet — the classic advice — mostly settles in the trap and achieves very little.
