Sewer Root Removal in Enon, OH 45323
Cut the roots out of your Enon sewer line — and deal with the opening that let them in.
Our crews handle sewer root removal across Enon and Clark County every day of the year. The inspection comes first, the recommendation second, and the written quote before any work begins.
Sewer Root Removal in Enon — what matters locally
At a median build year of 1968, Enon laterals are old enough for joints to have opened and the street trees are old enough to have found them. Root intrusion is among the most common calls we take in Clark County.
Silver maple, willow and poplar are the most aggressive offenders. A sixty-year-old specimen has a root system that comfortably reaches a lateral under the front lawn.
When Enon properties need sewer root removal
- Repeat backups in the same line, several times a year
- Gurgling toilets or slow drains across multiple fixtures
- A camera showing root mass at a joint
- Mature trees within reach of the lateral — most of Enon's established streets
- Backups that return within months of the last clearing
How the work is carried out
The method itself does not change from city to city, so we have written it up once in full rather than repeating it here:

What it costs in Enon
For most Enon homeowners the honest comparison is not pipe-against-pipe but total project cost. Open-cut looks cheaper until the driveway and landscaping have to go back in.
Serving Enon and Clark County
We work throughout Enon and the surrounding area, including the neighbourhoods around Mad River Township Hall, Yellow Springs Historic District and Trailside Museum. Whether your property sits on an established street with mature trees overhanging the lateral or in a newer development, the first step is the same: scope the line and find out what is actually there.

Sewer Root Removal in Enon — FAQs
Will the roots grow back?
If the defect stays open, yes — typically within one to three years, faster with willow, poplar or silver maple. Cutting manages the symptom. Lining the pipe removes the opening entirely, and that is what ends it.
Do I have to remove the tree?
Almost never. The pipe is the problem, not the tree. Once the Enon lateral is lined there is no opening for roots to exploit and a mature tree can stay exactly where it is. Removing a healthy shade tree while leaving a cracked joint fixes nothing.
Do chemical root killers work?
As a supplement between cuttings, partly. Foaming root-control products slow regrowth, but they do not remove an established mass and they do not repair the defect. Copper sulphate down a toilet — the classic advice — mostly settles in the trap and achieves very little.
